Splatter

Pressing splatter discs has become increasingly common in recent years.

Splatter vs. marbling
The difference between splatter and marbling can be compared to dipping soft serve ice cream in sprinkles versus mixing ingredients into dough. For splatter, the operator applies vinyl granules onto or around a pre-heated vinyl puck just before it enters the press. The result is a highly unique, random design on each disc.

Manual craft
This is an even more manual process, where each disc requires the operator’s hands-on involvement during pressing. As with marbled discs, you first choose a base color and then one or more additional colors to combine.

Combine splatter and marbling
As an extra creative option, we can also combine marbling with splatter. If you want a marbled base color that is then sprinkled with color granules, we can create an ultra-exclusive mix of both marbling and splatter. However, we only produce splatter discs in the 12″ format.
